Heifer's model of holistic development doesn't stop with ending hunger

Heifer’s work is focused on ending hunger, but we can’t end hunger without also caring for the earth. Poor agriculture is often related to soil erosion. Lack of water is often related to deforestation. And global warming is already hurting the world’s most poor and vulnerable through drought and changing ecosystems. If we are going to set families on a path of sustainable prosperity we must make sure that we work for a sustainable environment.

We've made the work of achieving environmental sustainability a part of everything we do at Heifer. We've built Heifer's headquarters to be a model sustainable building and we were honored with a Platinum LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating. In our projects we teach farmers around the world how to farm in environmentally friendly ways including organic farming methods. We also introduce appropriate technology such as biogas that saves forests from being harvested for firewood. In everything we make a healthier planet our goal.

God knows modern man has managed to screw up just about all he can in his quest for comfort. What bothers me most... is not only is Man creating his own demise, he's taking all with him. Maybe it's time for the takers that run things to hand over the reign to the givers. Compensation from said takers should be distributed, giving back to all. Evening the score so to speak. I do believe we are capable of finding comfort without destroying ourselves, others and the world.

Content in comfort or contentious in woe man has evolved. Man seeks satisfaction for his desires in ways costing the smallest efforts. Betterment is the catalyst for change. Any change for the better benefits all. When comfortable man tends to get lazy, ignoring the need for change.
Well to be, I am tired of people that talk the talk but don't walk the walk. I see alot of selfishness for personal gain. Its not enough to throw a quarter in some poor bum's hat and feel good about giving. After all, "What can you do with a quarter ?".
"In the practice of mutual aid, which we can trace back to the earliest beginning of evolution, we find the positive and undoubted origin of our ethical conceptions; we can confirm that in the ethical progress of man, mutual support not mutual struggle - has had the leading part in its wide extension, even at the present time. With collective efforts, in betterment and in good change, we see the best gaurantee of a still lofter evolution of our race.

NEW VISION needs aid to achieve fruition. It takes money to make money Daaa! We all know that! MY MISSION: To aid, research and develope new, Non-Profit business. Not just one but many. I believe with help from like minded people with the same GOAL: "WE WILL END POVERTY" With God's speed, I can and will move to help in bringing , not just hope, but valuably needed goods and employment to poverty stricken people throughout the world.
At this point, I feel I must tell you some of my story. Born in Canada, I was raised in a Christian family (First Presbyterian) Of Scottish decent I learned the value of being thrifty "What little there was, was little spent" Growing up close to poverty, but with never a day hungry, I soon discovered compassion for others. Fortunately through the commendably hard work and devoted efforts of my parents to amply provide the essentials of food and shelter, I learned and realised how to be caring and generous. Many times I'd feed less fortunate, hungry friends with hope. With passion I cared, this has driven me. Inspired by many a good deed I must continue to increase the sum of my experience(s) that, which, drives me forward.
